We're Looking for Our Next DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

The Development Manager will play a significant role in helping the Organization to secure funding and resources for its operations, projects and initiatives, through continuing to nurture relationships with the Organization’s existing funders, collaborators and partners, and fostering new relationships, to meet fundraising goals and support the Third Horizon’s mission.

❋ Caribbean Roots and Community

A deep, living connection to the Caribbean — through heritage, parentage, or lived experience — paired with an ongoing engagement with Caribbean arts communities, past and present.

❋ Language and Logistics

Eligibility to work in the USA. English proficiency (not necessarily native) required, with preference for at least one additional Caribbean language, including creoles and patois.

❋ Leadership and Relationship Building

Strong, empathetic, and human-centered leadership skills, with the ability to build relationships, navigate diverse cultural contexts, and work collaboratively across communities and institutions.

❋ Fundraising Expertise

Senior-level experience in development and fundraising for cultural nonprofit organizations, with expertise across U.S. and international funding, philanthropic, and donor ecosystems. Proven ability to assess an organization’s fundraising challenges and funding landscape, make strategic decisions around resource allocation, and adapt fundraising approaches to meet evolving opportunities and needs.

Remuneration And Conditions Of Employment:

  • This role is part-time for 12 months (15 hours per week) and paid on a contract basis

  • At the end of the first period of 12 months and following an internal evaluation process, the possibility exists that the role will transition into a full-time role with a yearly salary range of $40,000 - $60,000 (USD)
